A message from Pastor Todd to our visitors:
Dear Friend,
Thank you
for taking a moment of your time to "visit" with us. Should you
ever have a
chance to join us in worship, I believe you would find a place where Jesus
Christ is
exalted and where lives are being changed and healed through his power. We
are a growing
church that recognizes that though we all have a sinful past, there is
forgiveness and new
life through Jesus Christ. Here we love to celebrate how wonderful it is to
be redeemed.
It is my hope that as you look through our web site you will discover a
church that is
not only busy with the Lord's business, but a church that longs to make you
part of our
exciting family. I know you will feel welcomed and loved here. May God bless
you and I
hope to meet you in person some day.
Pastor Todd Crofford

Visiting Laurel Wesleyan
Church for
the First Time
No matter how friendly and welcoming a church is, visiting any church
for the first time can be a little intimidating.
You're probably wondering things like What's the church like?
Are they friendly?
Will I fit in?
Hopefully our website can answer many of your questions to help make
your first visit with us more relaxing and enjoyable.
-
Getting here is pretty easy. We are located one mile
north of Laurel, Delaware on the Laurel-Seaford Hwy (Alt 13A).
-
There is plenty of parking available. None of our parking
places are reserved except for the handicapped.
-
The building is fully wheelchair-accessible. The ushers
or greeters will be glad
to assist you.
-
Finding your way around the church is very easy. We
have two main entrances which lead to our foyer. Our greeters will provide you
with a bulletin, answer any questions you may have and even show you
around. Be sure to drop by our Welcome Center and pick up your free gift!
-
Everyone is welcome.
We welcome people of all ages, races, nationalities, ethnic groups,
and whatever your place in life. We are members of the family of God.
-
Time... we now have two worship
services: 9:00 AM & 10:45 AM. Come early ... we have donuts and coffee in
the foyer starting at 8:30. We offer a variety of Sunday School classes for
all ages. Please call the church office for details (302-875-5380).
-
As the worship service starts we have hosts in the
foyer and ushers to help you find a seat. The ushers can
provide headphones for the hearing impaired.
-
There is plenty of seating available in the sanctuary. Sit
wherever you like, there aren't any reserved seats. If you like, an usher
will help you find a seat.
-
Guests are never singled out or embarrassed. We
won't ask you to stand or wear a name tag or anything like that.
If you choose, you may fill out a visitor card from bulletin to let us know you came.
-
You don't have to pay anything. We don't expect
our guests to put anything in the offering plate - you are our guest. Our members
and regular
church family cheerfully give to support our ministries.
-
We have child care during all services with
staffed nursery rooms for infants and toddlers. We provide silent pagers for
parents. Generally older children
(4 year olds - 5th graders)
go to the worship service and then are dismissed after the music to go to
Children's Church.
However, if you prefer, you may certainly have your children remain
with you in the sanctuary.
-
Sunday school classes are also available
for all ages. We have nursery care and children's classes,
youth group (middle-school & high-school), plus adult classes for a variety of
topics and age ranges.
-
Tip: the classes are a great way
to get to meet people and make friends since they're
smaller than the worship services and have lots of relaxed, open discussion.
If you would like to meet with one of our pastors,
please call our office (302-875-5380) to schedule an appointment.
We're delighted that you're cruisin' our web page!
Cyberspace is wonderful... but there's no such thing as "cyber-church."
Behind everything you see here are real live flesh and blood human beings.
That's what the Church -- and church -- is really all about. So... we hope
you'll move from cyberspace to real space and drop in and be our guest sometime
at worship or at any of the other activities that may have caught your interest.
Our website may be nice, but the real heart and soul of Laurel Wesleyan still awaits
your personal on-site visit. We believe you'll enjoy what you find here.
Come... be our guest. Be as out-going or anonymous as you like. You're
always welcome at LWC.
